White Alpaca was established in 2018.
Our beloved 9 year old son Jake, at the time had become unwell and diagnosed with an auto-immune condition. He was unable to attend school due to the stigma, of how his condition limited his mobility and caused too much pain to focus in class all day. Home-school became our only option.
To help Jake cope, we decided to make a life change and move to a farm. Our son loved animals, and we knew the fresh air and natural surroundings could only be a good thing for him.
He made a long list of animals he wanted to have…ponies, sheep, goats and alpacas. Of all the animals his favourite become his beloved alpaca. He would feed him every day, and brush his coat.
My husband and I had both left our jobs to focus on our family, and our son’s health. In honour of our new priorities, an idea was formed to establish a family run home business called White Alpaca.
This idea was also born out of a growing frustration of parents to get their children to reduce their reliance on technology for entertainment.
My son had always loved rubicks cubes, and I found myself buying him every model available. He and his friends bonded for hours over solving them, and indeed the rest of my children also found an outlet for entertainment by challenging each other to finish them quickest!
Hence the formation of our White Alpaca business, supplying only technology-free games. These days, Jake still has his condition, but is doing much better. From our family to yours, we sincerely hope, our products can deliver an outlet for fun, and challenge, and keep filling our loved ones with hope.
